Every year I have a huge dilemma – what do I get my dad for Christmas? Actually I struggle with gifts for most everyone because I want it to be something the person wants and will be useful.
This year I made him something I felt he would use – my mom’s idea actually. See, my dad has a claw foot tub and he takes bath ALL the time.
I took a pallet and cut it down in between the cross pieces.
Then cut down the 2x4 down to the width of the tub. I nailed it all together with finish nails and sanded it like crazy.
Finally I put a coat of stain on. It sits pretty well on top of the tub. I imagine my dad with use it to watch movies, sip hot chocolate, and eat pie. Seriously, he loves his baths!
I seriously love this idea! You are so crafty! Every time I see a bathtub tray it reminds me of an episode of House Hunters where the guy made sure each house they looked at had a good bathtub because he did all his work on his laptop while he was in the bath. It was his way of relaxing! lol
ReplyDeletehehe House Hunters is the greatest! I need to take the time to relax in the bath more often.
DeleteGreat idea! Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteThanks, Danita! Thanks for coming by and commenting!
DeleteFun idea... but I'd be nervous that I would accidentally hit the tray and knock that laptop into the tub. It'd be great for me to set a drink or something not so expensive on though.
ReplyDeletehehe yeah, I would probably be nervous too. I made it wide enough to prevent that. We'll see if my dad has any mishaps.
DeleteThis is such a creative solution for a bathtub tray.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah, glad you like it. Thanks for coming by and commenting!
