The Blogland Tour

Hey, I’m back! We’ve had a big learning curve with this whole, wake-up-at-a-certain-time-get-ready-and-out-the-door preschool thing. haha. I mean, come on, I never had to be anywhere at a specific time so we just woke up when we woke up. That has come to an end!
Kimono2Anyway, I’m excited that my friend Natalie from Pistashio Road asked me to do the Blogland Tour with her. Natalie and I met in college and have since reconnected through blogging, which is awesome. Natalie is super talented, check out this adorable and stylish DIY Kimono she made. It has me going through my fabric stash to make one for me!

The Blogland Tour 2014

1. What am I working on?
Now that’s the million dollar question. I have a Lowe’s gift card burning a hole in my pocket, but some of my projects have been cancelled or altered due to some recent life changes. I have been building some table legs for our dining room table. They need to be stained and attached, I’ve just been waiting for cooler weather before working in the garage. I have some ideas just forming for some fall decorations. It’s hard to think about fall though when it’s still 100 degrees. I would like to plant a fall garden, but we shall see about that.
I'm working on a post about cloth diapers, breastfeeding, sugar addiction, and nighttime routines. I just have to find some time to work on them.
2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
Well, I really like to be frugal about my projects. I try to work with what I have already to accomplish something unique. I also really enjoy working with power tools and building things. I think my favorite project recently was my DIY Baby Gate. I loved using what I had on hand – a crib rail- and figuring out how to use it effectively as a baby gate.
3. Why do I write/create what I do?
I really enjoy creating things, but sometimes I need a motivation. I love when I can inspire someone to reuse, create, or build something that they didn’t know they could. So I guess I’m motivated by the possibility of inspiring others to be creative, live healthier, be happier, all that. I also figure, I’m going to be doing these projects anyway, why not share them? It’s fun and I’ve met a bunch of fun people through blogging.
4. How does your writing/ creating process work?
I basically just go through my to do list. Sometimes I’ll skip around or have an idea that I just want to do right away. I also try to think of projects that will save other moms money, time, or their sanity. You know tips and trick to make each day a little smoother. So if I have one of those ‘Ah Ha’ moments, I’ll write it down and use that as a topic to write about. I want my blog to be uplifting and inspirational.

The Blogland Tour continues:
I’m really excited to introduce two friends who I adore. I actually met them both within the last year and we’ve just had a blast getting to know each other, hanging out, having play dates, and just being goofy!

Hi!  My name is Christy. I am a military wife and a work-at-home mom of a beautiful little girl.
I love all things coffee, travel, music and outdoors.  I strive to live a healthy and try to help others live healthier.  Although I try to be healthy, I also indulge in yummy treats … I find that to have balance, you have to have a good mix of give & take.
My hope in creating “Fresh Mix Momma” is to give moms a chance to sit, relax and escape everyday stresses.  Giving others tips/tricks, travel advice, DIY, recipes and more.
So if you need a break, this is it.  Let this be a breath of fresh air!

Hi! My name is Racheal. I am wife and mother to three
terrible, crazy, wonderful kids!
I have Multiple Sclerosis, and my youngest has Cystic Fibrosis.
Everyday I am learning to survive and thrive through motherhood. I try to not take days for granted. Each one is something to cherish! Whether or not that happens is a different story, let’s be real. I always love my kids, I don’t always like them.
I love to read, go out with my mom friends, cuddle with my kids under the covers, and I am pretty sure I have an addiction to…. CHOCOLATE!!!
If you are a mom, or maybe not,  but you want to laugh your tail off, you have come to the right place. The stuff I write about I wish I could make up…
Thanks for stopping by!
